What is the ASME ?

ASME, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, is an American association . According to ASME said that ASME "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach."

Project Overview

Motor controller built for two different vehicles. They are on the electric fuel category. They both need two different motor controllers and for any emergencies there will be a back up motor controller. The car is completely built with a connection points for the pedal and motor, we just have to make it move with the motor controller.

Project Objectives

This project is mostly focused on energy efficiency. We want to make this car move with as little energy as possible while still maintaining the minimum speed requirements for the competition. Our client is going to be racing these cars in a scenario that is similar to the picture below, and they are competing for energy efficiency.

Project Scope

The scope is the motor controller. This is the core of the project. We intend on creating two motor controllers for two different types of vehicle. We will have a backup design as well for both vehicles; in the rare case of the client losing or burning out the original piece. The motor controller will enable the functionality of the vehicle up to speeds of 25 mph and 40 mph respectively.
