Abbey Krenz
I’m Abbey Krenz and I am a counselor at Rome Corners. I was born and raised in Oregon. I have taught in the district for 13 years at PVE. I have 3 kids and love spending time with my family. I love sports and am super excited to be working at RCI!

Holly Kortemeier
Hello! This is my first year as a School Counselor at Rome Corners Intermediate (RCI). I have been an educator for more than three years and am excited to get to know the individuals of the Oregon School District community. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my dog Hooper, cheering on the Packers, and exploring Madison!
My role at RCI is to help students in the areas of academic growth, career exploration, and social, emotional, and mental wellbeing through collaboration with staff and families. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sarah Hughes
Hi, I’m Sarah Hughes. I have worked at Rome Corners Intermediate School as a school psychologist since the fall of 2015. My undergraduate degrees include a B.A. in French and Psychology from Marquette University. My graduate schooling in Educational Psychology was completed at UW-Milwaukee. I have worked in the field since 1996 and really enjoy supporting students, families and educators in our work together in schools. I have a special interest in the effects of disabilities on student’s sense of efficacy and self-worth. I am also interested in partnerships between families and schools in the upper grades and in fostering a positive school climate. I live in Fitchburg with my husband, 3 children, dog, and a gecko.

Caitlin Petersen
My name is Caitlin Petersen and I am excited to be the school social worker at Brooklyn Elementary and Rome Corners Intermediate! Before joining the Oregon School District in 2021, I served as a school social worker for 5 years in Northern WI. Our District K-6 SEL Coach
Michelle Kretschman
I am the district’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coach for PreK-6th grade. Before entering this role, I served as a special education teacher for over 20 years in diversified settings. The focus of the SEL Coach is increasing the internal capacity of OSD educators to meet the academic and social/emotional needs of our learners through: partnering with OSD educators in creating personalized, responsive classroom and school environments, as well as facilitating multiple types of professional learning opportunities in alignment with our instructional vision, data-determined needs, and OSD values.
