Welcome to the Yellow 1 team! 

I will be your 5th grader's language arts and social studies teacher. I have been teaching at RCI for 8 - 1/2 years in both the 5th and 6th grade. RCI and the Oregon School District is a great place to be! Our family moved to McFarland in 2015 from Rockford, IL where I taught for 15 years. 

Teaching is my second career as I was an international flight attendant for American Airlines for 12 years before teaching. I was a designated German speaker on the flights and am grateful for the opportunity to see many parts of the world. My first teaching position was teaching German for preschool through 6th grade. I knew from that experience that teaching was where I wanted to be.

Our family includes two adult daughters, Jessica and Hanna, my husband Jim, and our golden retriever, Journey. Jessica lives in Denver, Colorado, and Hanna lives in Milwaukee. Jim and I enjoy fires in the backyard firepit, kayaking, hiking, and time spent together. We all live busy lives, so it is wonderful when we can share time together. 

For my get-away time, I also love to read, quilt, and garden. I love to share these interests with family and friends and learn from them.
