Motivation. You might know what its textbook definition is but explaining it and possessing it are two different things. Having motivation is critical in various aspects of everyday life such as school, work, personal life goals, and more.
What is motivation?
Motivation is what drives a living being to do a certain action. It is evident in both humans and animals. Motivation in a human is more cognitively advanced because it relies more on mental drive than it does biological instinct.
The core types of motivation found in both animals and humans are intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic motivation is the drive to do something because you find it enjoyable or interesting. Perhaps even fascinating. Extrinsic motivation is more of an external motivation, which could mean something like money, attention (hopefully the good kind), or avoiding punishment.
How can I use motivation?
While motivation is a common thing, it doesn’t just skip right down motivation alley and run into you every time you need it. Instead you’re sitting at your desk with an essay you really don’t want to write, waiting for that motivation to hit like a WWE smack down.
The thing is it's not going to run towards you. You have to run towards it and the longer you wait, the more miles you’ll be running.
