As the fall esports season comes to a close, ORCA teams wrapped up their campaigns with intense playoff appearances across multiple games. While the postseason brought hard-fought matchups and challenging opponents, it also highlighted the growth, dedication, and competitiveness of ORCA’s esports program.
The League of Legends team, the Silly Gooses, entered the playoffs facing a massive challenge in the first round. Matched up against the tournament’s top seed, the VC Fighting Irish, the Silly Gooses battled hard. Despite their efforts, the Silly Gooses fell to the first place team, bringing their season to an end. While the result was not what the team had hoped for, competing in the playoffs against elite opponents provided valuable experience.
ORCA also saw postseason action in Rocket League, where Rocket League A delivered an impressive performance in the opening round. The team secured a decisive 4-1 victory over The Broncs from Brocklehurst Secondary School, advancing to the second round.
In the second round, Rocket League A faced École McTavish High School, a tough and highly ranked crew. Despite a strong effort, the esports squad was unable to secure this next win, concluding both their playoff run and season.
With the end of these playoff matches, ORCA officially wraps up its fall esports season. Attention now shifts toward the spring season, which will kick off this February. As teams regroup and prepare for the next chapter, there’s lots of anticipation for what’s to come. Congratulations to all ORCA esports athletes on their efforts this season!
