DECA (which formerly stood for Distributive Education Clubs of America) is an organization dedicated to helping students develop into business leaders and entrepreneurs. ORCA has a brand new chapter that is part of the ASCEND Business pathway and they have just announced their first ever officer team. It includes students ranging from 8th to 12th grade who will serve the student body and represent ORCA’s business association.

“I'm really excited about our officer team for DECA this year as we get it up and running,” says President Lux Reames. “Everyone is bringing different strengths and ideas, and I think teamwork will help us grow the chapter, create more opportunities, and create an incredibly strong base for the years to come.”
“I'm also very excited for all the advocating and awareness we're getting to do this year,” Reames adds. “I can't wait to see all the things we accomplish.”
DECA students will be attending their first state leadership conference this month. More events and announcements to come soon in The Current.
