Ryland Bickley is the founder and first Editor-in-chief of The Current. As the spearhead and fearless leader of the club, he helped support and grow the newspaper since its early days, starting from its debut issue in 2021 to the fully-functioning paper it is today. Bickley graduated ORCA in 2023.
YEEHAW!
A 2024 ORCA graduate and 2024 Student Government Marketing Committee Leader, Hannah’s Newspaper Club work grew from staff writer to layout editor to a senior year term as Editor-in-Chief, where she was a pillar of reliability and technical support. She was known for tirelessly crafting newspaper articles, midnight editing sessions, polls that were both humorous and controversial, the humorous touch to her work and a problematic ice cream habit.
Never Gonna Give You Up
There are few clubs at ORCA that Grace did not impact. She was Student Government’s 2023-2024 High School President and The Current’s Layout Editor. Grace was known for her strong commitment to serving others, setting an example for her peers. As she led, she demonstrated selflessness, all while making her meetings fun with lighthearted nods to Taylor Swift and ample slang usage (“Slay!”). Peterson graduated in 2024.
SLAY!
Co-founder of Philosophy Club and Prayer Club, and Student Government’s Former Dance Committee Leader and Public Relations Officer, Kenna wore many hats at The Current, which she helped to found. She loved writing and editing articles, particularly about literature, uplifting the voices of her peers, creating crossword puzzles for peers to enjoy and sharing her faith. Stewart graduated in 2024.
