Watch this video first for a sneak peek at what we will be doing in art this year!
Video Highlights:
*There is no scheduled Zoom time for art lessons. Lessons are pre-recorded and posted each Monday for students to complete when it fits best in their schedule. Art videos are about 15 minutes in length but please allow up to 45 minutes to do art so that you can start and stop the videos as you create.
*All lessons can be done with the supplies in Student's school box plus paper. You may also want to collect recycled materials to add to your supplies. Please see the Art Box ideas below.
*Please keep your work in a safe place. You can find some creative ideas for making an Art Portfolio below. You will receive instructions about turning in your artwork from your classroom teacher in the coming weeks.
Feel free to reach out to me anytime (see the contact tab above). It's going to be a great year! Mrs. Larrabee
Think outside the school box! Consider collecting these recycled materials in an art box to use with your art projects:
*Cereal boxes *newspaper *magazines * tissue paper/wrapping paper *construction paper scrapes *used paper like graph paper or printer mistakes *old markers (to make watercolors)
Each student will be building an art portfolio this year. (It sounds fancy, but really it is just a way to keep our artwork organized so we can refer back to it and have it available for future lessons.) If you have a folder that you can use already, great! If not, check out the video to see how to make an art portfolio using a paper grocery bag or newspaper.
Supplies need: 1. paper bag or newspaper 2. stapler or heavy duty tape (duct tape or packing tape)
