School Shoutouts

We're shouting out the amazing things going on at our OUSD elementary schools!

October School Counseling Activities

Nohl Canyon celebrating Unity Day in style.

California iInspire Academy students and staff crafted kind messages on post-its for their words of encouragement station.

At Sycamore Elementary, students practiced being Upstanders and took a pledge to Stand Up Against Bullying.

Unity Day and Anti-Bullying

Throughout October, our Elementary School Counselors support students and school communities in recognizing and preventing bullying through engaging lessons and activities focused on kindness, inclusion, and respect. In celebration of Unity Day, students and staff wear orange (or their school's selected color) to show their support for bullying prevention and to send a message that everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted, and included.

Why Orange?

Orange is a bold, high-visibility color that sends a powerful message. When we wear it together, we create a visible wave of support, proving that no student is alone and that bullying has no place in our community.

Enjoy these wonderful photos capturing our elementary schools coming together to spread kindness, promote inclusion, and stand united against bullying!

Start with Hello is a Sandy Hook Promise initiative that encourages students to reach out, include others, and create a welcoming school community where everyone feels seen, valued, and connected.
