Academic Honesty
It is expected that all students complete their own work, unless it is specifically labeled as a collaborative assignment. If more than one student turns in an assignment that is identical or too similar, both may receive a zero on the assignment. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Artificial Intelligence: To best support your own learning, you should complete all graded assignments in this class yourself, without any use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). Please refrain from using AI tools to generate any content (text, video, audio, images, code, etc.) for an assignment or classroom exercise. Passing off any AI generated content as your own (e.g., cutting and pasting content into written assignments, or paraphrasing AI content) constitutes a violation of the academic policy and will result in the consequences for academic dishonesty below.
Plagiarism- “the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own.” - Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Plagiarism includes…
Copying and pasting off the internet/or simply copying the ideas or information and claiming them as your own.
Copying another student’s work and claiming it as your own.
Using ideas off the internet and claiming them to be your own.
Make sure you never share your work with another student, even if you are just trying to help. You could be held responsible even if you are the one that did the work. The safest way to not be part of any potential cheating is to simply not share your work.
Originality Report- This report is used when students turn in assignments on Google Classroom. It will flag any assignments that are too similar or exactly the same. It will also flag passages that are found on the internet.
