The Liberty Orchard
And The People Who Made It
Over the last couple of months, I have been working on my Senior Project. I spent over 30 hours filming and editing a documentary on the Liberty Orchard in Brookfield. I started this project because I knew about the orchard, but not as much as I do now, and I love photography and filming so I knew it was perfect for my project. My goal for my project is to take you into the life of hard working Vermonters who didn't start as Vermonters but soon came to realize that Vermont is their home where they could retire and have a beautiful orchard. I started the interview process in January, then continued with my project hours on the film editing process. I think that simply telling people is less memorable than visual storytelling which is part of why I chose to do a documentary. Through the video, I can show a story without me just telling it, which is very powerful.
