HONORS ELA Performance Task Prompts

• Performance Task A: Write your own suspenseful narrative based on real or imagined experiences and events. Your narrative should include a plot with a beginning, middle, and end, a clear setting, characters, dialogue, a suspenseful theme, and elements of the horror genre.

• Performance Task B: Select one of the narratives you’ve read throughout the module and write an essay examining and critiquing the author’s use of defining elements of the horror genre. Include concrete details, quotations, or other examples to support your analysis.
