Within this assignment we were assigned to research minerals, and both research & become familiar with aspects upon the crystals, minerals, and gemstones of our choice. Im proud of my work on this assignment as I did deep research into the meaning some of the minerals of my choice had and also what makes different variations of my mineral so valueable compared to others.
1.1 Introduction to the Lesson Phenomenon Worksheet
Within this assignment I was assigned to draw a model representing how a candle makes efficient use of the combustion reaction. Throughout my time working in my chemistry class developing models for other reactions, I find that the work I submitted could use improvement. I realize that for a model, the parts are not labeled, and whats happening in the model is not exactly explained. The model only really demonstrates the shape of a candle and not exactly the reaction its supposed to depict.
Effective nuclear Charge and Electron Shielding
Within this assignment my use of claim evidence and reasoning I think is effective as all three parts work together in order to push the point I want to make across. My claim demonstrating what I want to say, my evidence demonstrating the reason behind my claim. and my reasoning explaining how my evidence now proves my claim correct. This is a vital skill used in a large amount of writing and a large spectrum of assignment I have to do and therefore this assignment demonstrates the skill that was built within that field.
Application of Emission Spectroscopy - Making Sparklers (Pyrotechnics)
While I did okay on this assignment I defenitely couldve been more descriptive or gone into more detail on my answers. Some answers in particular are pretty short while I defenitely couldve explained a lot more of what allows my answers to happen. The notes I took on the video in this sheet also couldve been better and more organized. I did not take notes that went into depth upon the subject but I rather took notes I thought I could use.
I did pretty well on this assignment yet I believe I couldve done better. I had a good understanding of what the questions were asking and the reasoning behind my answers. Yet they asked to draw a model to represent the phenomenon I was describing where I believe I spent too little time. The models were pretty bassic in my opinion, containing no labels on it's parts. While the point is still conveyed by the model, it can defenitely be quickly improved.
I did very well on this assignment and I believe this was a crucial concept to learn when it came to the concept of stoichiometry. Mole conversion is one of the basics of stoichiometry and is crucial towards the more advanced conversions that stoichiometry asks one to preform later in it's lessons. Overall a good grasp on the basics of stoichiometry is what led me to better understand the more complicated aspects of stoichiometry.
