Hello! My name is Ms. Hatheway and I LOVE being the River Park Media Specialist! I have my Masters of Library and Information Science with a School Librarian focus from the University of Oklahoma.  l love helping students discover new books and share my love of reading with all of the River Park Tigers!

Currently Reading: 

Ban This Book  by Allan Gratz. This is a stand alone realistic fiction book. 

This book is about a fourth grader named Amy Anne who loves to read and visit her school library. Then one day she goes to check out her favorite book and discovers that it has been REMOVED from the library due to a parent complaint. She then finds out that even more books may be at risk.  Amy Anne and her friends get involved to try to protect their freedom to read and...I can't tell you what happens next because I haven't finished it yet!

I am really enjoying this book and I look foward to reading more about all of the clever ways Amy Anne and the other fourth graders fight the censorship happening in their library.
