Hello! I am Mrs. Sigler, and I will be your child’s ELA teacher. This will be my seventh year teaching and my fifth year at Orange Middle School. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Special Education from UNC Greensboro and my Master’s in Learning Design and Technology from UNC Charlotte in December. I am also an Orange County Schools alumnus. In my free time, you may find me reading, sewing, or outside getting my steps in! I am excited for a great year of learning and growing together!
This is my 15th year teaching, and my second at OMS. I graduated from ECU with a degree in School Social Work, and from UNCG in Special Education/Elementary Education. I am also a graduate of Orange County Schools. I am excited to be working with your family, and look forward to a successful school year!
MATH
I am the wife of Troy, a proud mother of four, and a grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren. My career at Orange Middle began in 2001, and in 2010 I stepped into my current role as a 6th-grade math teacher—a position I continue to love today. Over the past six years, I’ve also had the privilege of leading groups of students on unforgettable EF travel experiences to Europe.
Outside of school, I enjoy visiting the beach, fishing, and creating resin art. In the classroom, I believe that every student can learn and succeed. I also encourage parents to recognize the math they use every day as valuable, because I genuinely believe that every parent is good at math. When parents believe that, their children are more likely to believe in themselves, too. Most importantly, strong communication between students, parents, and teachers is critical to a successful school year
This will be my eleventh year teaching and my third year at Orange Middle School. I graduated from Elon University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I live in Burlington with my husband, Austin, and our two children, Mae and Cayde. I am excited for an amazing year of learning and growth with our students!
This year, students will use guided notes and maintain an organized binder, with all materials posted on Canvas to stay caught up. Homework is assigned weekly and counts as participation, with late work marked as zero. Progress reports are sent home mid-quarter, and students can attend Smart Lunch for extra help or to make up assignments.
SCIENCE
Hello! I am Mrs. Lenhart. I have been a teacher for 10 years. This is my sixth year at Orange Middle School and I love it here! I am a pretty big nerd and I love to learn new crafts and skills. I absolutely love being a teacher and especially working with sixth graders.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to partner with you in creating a positive, engaging, and successful experience for every student. This year we will focus on building strong academic skills, teamwork, and creativity while ensuring all students feel valued and supported. Together, we can make this a rewarding year of growth and learning!
