Arrival & Dismissal

Updates for the 22-23 school year

Please communicate to teachers if your child will regularly be a car rider, bus rider with bus #), HES after-school care participant, walker, or private camp provider participant in the AM and PM. Please note any specific information for the first day/week of school or special routine. Safety is a priority for us at HES and knowing how your child is supposed to go home and who is picking them up is very important.

School Bus

Please complete HES Transportation Request if you have not already completed it.

Arrival

Drop-off starts at 7:25 am and school begins at 7:45 am

• • • • Breakfast is available in the cafe before school. If eating breakfast, please provide enough time for students to eat and arrive at their classroom by 7:45.

      • Due to safety reasons, parents will not be allowed to walk children to classrooms (please use the designated drop off area for walkers) with the exception of kindergarten parents on the first day of school only.

      • Because of safety protocols, no students should leave their vehicles unless an adult is present.

Dismissal

Dismissal begins at 2:30 pm

• Car Rider Pick-up: Please have student name tags displayed and visible on the car's visor. Students will remain in the classrooms until their name is called.

Walkers

Walk-up procedures for those families whose homes are within walking distance from HES. Students can be dropped off and picked up at our 100-building location located on Union Street. See the map below.

• AM Drop off: Please walk up to the door and staff will greet students. Parents will not be permitted to walk students to classrooms.

• PM Pick up: Please walk up to and wait in the grass area and keep sidewalks clear so bus riders can safely unload/board and HES staff can safely dismiss students.

• Families, please communicate with teachers if children will be picked up at the walk-up location on a regular basis.

Private Camp Providers

Please communicate directly with the camp and homeroom teacher if there are any changes to camp pick-up.
