Go Buckeyes!!!
Welcome 8th grade parents! My name is Brittany Egan, and I am one of the school counselors here at OMS. This is my third year in the district, but I have been working with middle school students as a counselor for 15 years.
I am originally from Maryland and earned my undergraduate degree from THE Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!). After deciding to trade in the cold weather for some sunshine, I moved to North Carolina and earned my Master’s degree in Career/School Counseling from North Carolina Central University.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a veterinary technician for 13 years and once dreamed of attending veterinary school. However, my mom—who was also a middle school counselor and remains my role model—encouraged me to pursue school counseling instead. Following her advice was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I hope to serve students and families as well as she did.
At home, I stay busy with my two cats, Batman and Robin, and my French Bulldog, Hugo.
I am excited to partner with you and your students this year! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything—I’m here to help.

Thank you for your attention to detail and cooperation! The window closes on Monday, September 8th at 4pm.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, an important opportunity for us to come together to raise awareness and support our students. I want to encourage each of you to recognize this month in a way that makes sense for your school community; whether that’s sharing resources, highlighting available supports, or starting meaningful conversations with students and staff.
To help, I’ve gathered some resources you can use:
