Two truths and a lie:
-Have gone scuba diving
-Have gone skydiving
-Have gone off a diving board
Mr. Hulbert loves teaching poetry and sci-fi, and finding excuses to incorporate party city wigs into a lesson plan whenever possible. He has a cat named after Sylvia Plath, and three house plants he has proudly (barely) kept alive for three years. He has a natural and well-founded distrust of cephalopods and other creatures with a beak.
Hello Orange Middle School AIG Families,
First, welcome to the new school year. The AIG department is super excited to welcome Mr. George Hulbert to the OMS family. He is our new part-time AIG specialist. We will have him at Orange Middle School on Mondays and Tuesdays, and some Fridays. When he is not with us, he will be at A.L. Stanback Middle School just down the road. Mr. Hulbert comes to us from a background in high school English, so he will be focused mainly on supporting the ELA team, while I (Daniel Thayer) will be mainly focused on supporting the math program.
Mr. Hulbert and I are busy with the start-of-year paperwork. As part of the new district AIG plan, we are conferencing with every AIG-identified student so we can collaboratively fill out the child’s Differentiated Education Plan (DEP). This process takes some time, but we are enjoying getting to know your students better. We hope to have the DEPs finished in the next couple of weeks, so please be on the lookout for your copy to sign and return to Mr. Thayer, Mr. Hulbert, or the front office by the end of the month.
