Welcome to my class! My name is Rebecca Rosen, and I have been teaching at Oradell Public School since September 2019. This year I am excited to be working with Eun Kang for Math, Science and Social Studies, and Sheri Malenda for Reading and Writing. Prior to joining Oradell, I spent eight years teaching in another district. Each summer, I eagerly anticipate the start of a new school year because of the exceptional students, supportive families, and dedicated colleagues I have the privilege to work with.
I have had the opportunity to teach across multiple grade levels, which has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum. This experience enables me to identify the skills and strategies students have previously mastered and anticipate what they will learn in future years. As a result, I can help my students make meaningful connections to prior knowledge while equipping them with a solid foundation for continued academic success.
As a former competitive swimmer, I understand the challenges student-athletes face by balancing academics, athletics, and personal commitments. I am committed to supporting my students in managing their responsibilities and achieving success both in and out of the classroom.

Welcome to 5th Grade!
My name is Katherine Calcagno, and I am excited to be joining Oradell as part of the 5th grade team. This is my first year at Oradell, but I have been teaching for seven years. Over that time, I have taught in a variety of settings, including 1st, 2nd, and 4th grade inclusion, 2nd grade general education, and 3rd–5th grade self-contained classrooms. These experiences have allowed me to develop a strong background in supporting students with diverse needs and helping every child succeed.
I am certified in Pre-k- 6th Elementary Education, Students with Disabilities, and Reading (K–6). I am also working toward my certification as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC), which I expect to complete in the spring. This year, I will be serving as the leave replacement for Mrs. Rosen during her maternity leave, and I look forward to partnering with both students and families to make this year a positive and successful one.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have three daughters: Jaylah, who will turn 15 in October, Kylie, who is 12, and Hailey, who is 7.
I am excited to get started and can’t wait to meet the students as we begin a great year together in 5th grade!
