Born with the middle name "Monet", art was surely my destiny. I started out as Bio-Psychology major (Studio Art minor) at Tufts University hoping to combine the fields of art therapy and psychology. But because of the foreign language requirement, I ended up a semester abroad in Japan, and falling in love with Japanese language, art and culture. Upon graduating Tufts, I spent an additional 2 years in Japan teaching English at Choyo Junior High School in Mie-Ken (outside of Nagoya).
Wanting to further my passion for Japanese art, I pursued a Masters degree in East Asian Studies from Washington University in St. Louis. From there I worked and interned in NYC for various Japanese art dealers, galleries, and museums. 10 years later, after moving to suburbia, and wanting to be closer to my family, I started my own hand-made children's clothing line and teaching art classes.
I am now merging my passion for art and education together and am so excited to be in my fourth year teaching art at Oradell Public School!!!
