Dear ­­­­Students & ­­Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself if you have not already met me. My name is Michelle Weilbacher, and I am the Social-Emotional Specialist for Oak Park Unified School District. I provide Individualized Education Plan student counseling services.

I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful school district and community as we have here in Oak Park. Even in trying times, our district works diligently to put students first and to keep their best interests foremost.

Together (and remotely) we are going to focus on making the 2020-2021 school year the best that it can be.

As part of this, I want to assure each student and his or her parents that you are not alone in this transition to remote learning and that I continue to be here to support you. To that end:

• Parents - if there is anything you would like to discuss or think would be helpful for me to know when working with your child, please do not hesitate to contact me. During this period of remote learning, the best way to reach me is via email at mweilbacher@opusd.org.

Finally, please remember to focus on staying calm and connected, and reaching out to check on the well-being of others. Also, creating a healthy and productive routine will help you through this time. By staying connected and focused, and working together, we will move through this successfully and soon be back on campus together.
