My name is Ashley Michelin and I teach  CP Biology, Honors Biology, and Foundations of Science at Oak Park High School! This is my 10th year of teaching overall and my fifth year here at Oak Park High School. Prior to teaching at Oak Park High School, I taught at nearby Westlake High School.

Born and raised in New Jersey, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a concentration in cell biology and neuroscience from Rutgers University in 2013 (go Scarlet Knights!). I then went on to earn my Master of Arts in Teaching from The College of New Jersey and began my teaching career at Madison High School in Madison, New Jersey. In 2018, my husband and I moved across the country to California.

I hold teaching credentials in the biological sciences in both California and New Jersey. Classes I've taught over the past nine years include Biology (both CP and Honors level), Environmental Science, Ecology, Forensic Science, Foundations of Science, and Astronomy. In 2022, I also earned my administrative services credential through Las Virgenes Unified School District's Center EdX in combination with the University of California Santa Barbara.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me spending time with my husband, my two sons, and my cat Sadie. Outside of teaching, I also enjoy running, traveling, going to the beach, and nerding out over all things science - especially genetics!
