Students are responsible for writing down their homework for both math and science in their agenda book each day by reviewing assignments on the homework board in class. The assignments will be updated on the below document at the end of each school day. The CW/HW schedule can be found in Google Classroom, and below.

*ALEKS is a Math WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT - complete a minimum of 30 minutes (which is at least 3 topics) each week. There is an occasional 'make-up' week given for students to complete minutes from a prior week missed in that current quarter.
**If your child needs a copy of a particular assignment because they are absent or have lost it, they will find copies in Google Classroom, or in the Math and Science Extras Bin in my classroom upon your child's return to school.

A maximum of ½ credit will be given for work turned in one day late,
Zero credit will be given for work turned in after one day late (or per teacher discretion).

Any work not completed by the appropriate time, will be given a zero. Your child should EMAIL ME if they are unable to complete their work/homework due to an absence. We will work out a time to make up those assignments. Missed Quizzes/Test will be taken when your child returns.

Math classwork and homework is typically graded on a scale of 1-5 (0 if not turned in). This applied to paper and digital work.
Science classwork, homework and notebook pages are also graded of out 5 in either gradual/daily checks, or you may see in Q "NTBK Check" (Notebook Check) which means multiple pages were checked at once.
*When a notebook check occurs - We have already gone over all pages together. I am looking for completeness/neatness, did the students correct/add information, was there effort put into the page(s) etc.
*not all work is graded and entered into Q

5 pts = 80-100% accuracy
4 pts = 70=79% accuracy
3 pts = 51-69% accuracy
2 pts = 50 and below
1 pt = incomplete

- The grading scale is reflective of grades that are posted in Q for both math and science.
- Grades in Q are made up of both homework, classwork, projects and quizzes/tests. The total points earned are added, then divided by the total points possible to get the percentage automatically in Q upon entry.
- If a student is earning a C- or below at the midpoint of a quarter:
- they will receive a progress report, which will be posted in Q. A message will be sent out to all MCMS families by our MCMS office or admin via ParentSquare when those are posted.
- Students may also receive a progress report for an 'N' or 'U' earned in either Citizenship or Work Habits, regardless of their grade. See below for more on those marks.
- Citizenship/Work Habits - Satisfactory means your student's work habits & behavior satisfies daily basic classroom behaviors & standards expected from all students. See below for more details.
Grades are updated about every 2 weeks. Check periodically, but not daily.
