Websites for Nationwide Scholarships
Log into NAVIANCE to view nationwide scholarships and deadlines. Once logged in click the "Colleges" tab then "Scholarships & Money."
When searching and applying for scholarships, remember these helpful tips:
Never give your social security number or driver's license number.
Sweepstakes "enter to win" scholarships are usually just a means to capture your information for marketing purposes.
"No essay" scholarships in many cases are also to capture your information for marketing purposes.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
NEVER pay to apply to a scholarship.
When in doubt, speak with your parents or College & Career Center to confirm a scholarship is legit.
Summer or Scholarship Program
If you are in grades 9 - 11 and applying to a summer or scholarship program that requires a counselor letter of recommendation, please complete the Summer or Scholarship Program Application Counselor Survey on your Naviance home page, located under your initials and "Surveys from your school." Before completing the questionnaire, make sure you have formally requested a letter of recommendation by either emailing or seeing your counselor in person at least THREE weeks before the deadline.
