The STEAM Expo is a collaborative event that incorporates Science Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Each department highlights the different things their students are doing in their classrooms to support STEAM in the Middle School. Local companies are welcome to attend to feature their inclusion of STEAM within their business. Everyone is welcome to attend and do not forget to mark this year's event on your calendar, you won't want to miss it!
Students show off the experiments that they complete on their own. This past year we had over 30 students giving presentations!
Guests participate in a handful of interactive tables including getting their hands dirty to make some art!
The night is capped off with the cardboard boat race. Each group must race to the end of the pool before their boat capsizes!
NCCC Tech wars is attended by the 8th grade advanced technology and engineering classes. Before this event, students will work on projects to compete against other schools at NCCC. This past year, students competed in bridge building, Co2 car races, mousetrap car races, trebuchet launches, and an on-site problem solving competition. OPMS finished with 8 scores in the top 10 of the bridge build including second and third place.
