*Alternate assessments are for our students with the most severe cognitive disabilities, about 1% of the population. Alternate assessments are available for science, ELA, math, and English language proficiency.
Montana's science assessments include summative year-end required tests, as well as interim assessments that provide periodic progress checks and other formative activities educators can use or adapt to meet their own instructional requirements.
