Welcome, and congratulations on becoming the newest members of the Mann community! We are excited to have your kindergartener join us the 2025-2026 school year and be your partner in their growth and development. Below is key information that we hope will not only answer some of the general questions you may have about school but also help make this exciting transition smoother and more seamless for you and your child. Key Dates:
Kindergarten School Tour is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th at 7:00 pm
Mann School Back to School Bash will be on Monday, August 18th from 4:30pm-7:00 pm
Kindergarten Open House is scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm
The first day of school for the 2025-26 school year will be Wednesday, August 20th from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm
Welcome Back PTO Meeting on Thursday, August 28th at 6:30 pm
Mann School Curriculum Night will be held on Thursday, September 4th at 5:30 pm
New Family PTO Event on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00 pm

Signup for Kindergarten Readiness Snapshot Screening
District 97 will be offering opportunities to complete the assessments during the times outlined below.
Week 1 June 16 - 21 (Mon - Saturday) *June 19 - District is closed
Week 2: July 28 - August 2 (Monday - Saturday)
Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Saturday 7:30 - 2:00 PM.
Complete the Ages & Stages Social-Emotional Questionnaire (ASQ)

Hours of Attendance:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (elementary students are dismissed early on Wednesdays so staff can take part in weekly meetings, planning, and professional learning)
Students line up at 7:55 a.m. and enter the building at 8 a.m.
Health Information:
Below are the due dates for the completion and submission of the state-required health examinations. The forms and waivers for these examinations can be found on the district website (https://www.op97.org/health-services).
There will also be additional information about health requirements shared during the Kindergarten Open House.
School physicals and immunizations: October 15, 2025
Eye exam by an optometrist or ophthalmologist: October 15, 2025
Dental exam: May 15, 2026
Once completed, please submit all medical documentation to Nicole Turner, our school nurse, at nturner@op97.org.
Additionally, if your child will need to take over-the-counter or prescription medication during the school day or has an emergency action plan, please notify the school nurse at nturner@op97.org.

District 97 does not provide before- or after-school care. However, below is information about some of the local organizations that offer this type of programming.

Background Checks for Volunteering and Chaperoning for Field Trips :
In order for individuals to volunteer and chaperone, they must complete a background check and be cleared by our District Office. We strongly encourage families to sign up so they can be ready to participate in exciting activities throughout the school year. Families can sign up by clicking the link below. Appointments usually take 15 min.
