Field Experience Guide
Over the course of their pre-service teacher education program, all Teacher Candidates take three Foundations courses that gradually introduce approaches to teaching and learning, including planning, instruction, assessment, and classroom management. The Field Experience (or Practicum) is the practical component of these courses, giving Teacher Candidates an opportunity to apply their developing knowledge and skills.
Teacher Candidates are divided into smaller cohorts led by their Foundations Instructor. The Foundations Instructor is the primary contact for Field Experience placements and will be in contact with Associate Teachers and School Administration to facilitate classroom visits.
For any questions or concerns, please contact the Practicum Team at practicum.edu@ontariotechu.ca.
