Welcome to the Educational Studies (EDST) program at Ontario Tech University! We're so glad you're here. 🎉

Our program is grounded in values of equity, inclusion, and social responsibility. Whether you're joining us directly from high school, college, or returning to school after years in the workforce, you're part of a vibrant community of learners who are passionate about education in all its forms.

Our faculty and staff are here to support you every step of the way. Your instructors are researchers, educators, and community leaders - and you'll have access to a dedicated administrative team who can help you navigate the details of your academic journey.

Who are our students?

Since its inception, the EDST program has grown to over 900 students (and counting!) from all ages, backgrounds, life experiences, and future goals. Our program has several entry points, including the standard (four-year) program, and the advanced entry (College-to-University) program.

This orientation guide is designed with all of you in mind. We know that some students are very familiar with university life and online learning, while others are experiencing it for the first time. Wherever you're starting from, we've created this guide to meet you where you're at.

How to use this guide

This orientation guide has been designed as your personal roadmap to the program:

You don't need to read everything in one sitting. Each section will be short and focused so you can explore at your own pace.
Where the experience differs for Four-Year and Advanced Entry students, we'll clearly mark that and provide separate sections and pages with more detailed information.
Where you see a 📑 or ▶️ icon, that means there's a downloadable resource or video that may help further!
