Onslow St Audrey’s School Sports Academy (OSASA)
At Onslow St Audrey’s School, we are incredibly proud to offer a unique and exciting opportunity to a select group of students through a place in the Onslow St Audrey’s Sports Academy (OSASA).
Students who are successfully accepted into the academy will be closely monitored to ensure they continue to meet the high standards and expectations of the OSASA programme. Progress will be reviewed regularly, taking into account the following key areas:
Consistent attendance at all extra-curricular practices, including compulsory Sports Academy training sessions held every Tuesday morning from 8:20am to 9:00am.
Participation in fixtures, with an emphasis on commitment, effort, and team contribution.
Involvement in school sport, with students expected to regularly represent at least two school teams, or compete in one sport at county level or higher.
Support for the PE department, through roles such as refereeing, officiating, or assisting with events.
Tuesdays: 8:20am – 9:00am
Training includes:
Fitness & speed training
Strength and conditioning tailored for multiple sports
"Games for understanding" to develop tactical awareness
Sport-specific fitness and skills development
In total, students will engage in a demanding but rewarding routine each fortnight, consisting of:
4 core PE lessons
2 OSASA morning training sessions
Participation in extra-curricular clubs
Our programme supports development across a wide variety of sports, including:
Football, Netball, Basketball, Rugby, Gymnastics, Fitness, Table Tennis, Dance, Athletics, Cricket, Tennis, Rounders, Volleyball
In addition to academy-specific training, we offer an extensive extra-curricular programme available before school, during lunch, and after school, providing students with ample opportunity to pursue personal interests and broaden their athletic skills.
Each student will receive a personalised OSASA Handbook, which will be used to:
Track attendance at training sessions and fixtures
Monitor individual fitness levels
Set and evaluate personal performance goals
This enables students to take ownership of their development and progress both physically and mentally through sport.
At Onslow St Audrey’s School, we are passionate about promoting sports diversification. We believe that exposing students—whether in the Sports Academy or not—to a broad range of sports, including ones they may have never tried before, enhances overall athletic development, prevents burnout, and improves long-term performance. Engaging in varied physical activities supports not only physical fitness but also teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
