Dear Parent / Carer,
I am delighted that your child has been allocated Onslow St Audrey's as their secondary school. We look forward to welcoming you to our very special school community which has as its cornerstones opportunity, success and ambition - OSA! We are proud of the warm, inclusive atmosphere you will experience at OSA along with the great teaching and learning and extra-curricular opportunities that will ensure you make the most of your talents and passions. We are a 'Good' school, confirmed by Ofsted in December 2023. Click here to read the latest Ofsted report.
We prioritise the seamless transition of your child from Key Stage 2 (KS2) to Key Stage 3 (KS3) by offering a diverse array of transition events. Our comprehensive approach includes events such as friendship gatherings, where students can build connections with their peers. Additionally, our summer school program provides an enriching environment for academic and personal growth, allowing students to familiarise themselves with the expectations and challenges of KS3. Furthermore, our transition day serves as a pivotal moment for students to explore their new surroundings, meet teachers, and gain confidence in their upcoming educational journey. Through these initiatives, we ensure that your child's transition is not only smooth but also enriching, setting a solid foundation for their continued success.
I would like to invite your child and you to our Friendship Event on Tuesday 11th March at 3.45pm until 5.00pm. This will give your child the opportunity to meet other students from other schools and experience a subject taster session. You will receive more information about the transition from KS2 to KS3, and tour the school/workshops. If you're interested in attending the event with your child, please click here to sign your child up. We look forward to welcoming you on the 11th March, 2025.
We have put this website together for you to enable a seamless transition. We want your child to feel comfortable and confident in their next educational journey as they transition form primary to secondary school.
Over the next few months, our transition team will meet your child in their primary school and meet with their teachers. Sharing information will allow us to put the support in place much sooner.
If you have any questions regarding transition, please email our Admin team: admin@onslow.herts.sch.uk
Mrs Jones Mr Conway
Headteacher Lead for Transition
Mr. Brooman, our Head of Spanish, would like to know which language your child studied at primary school, as well as which language they would be interested in studying at OSA. Please note that while we will take preferences into account, we cannot guarantee students will receive their chosen language, as this depends on timetabling and group allocations.
We kindly ask that you discuss this with your child and complete the form linked here.
We have a dedicated team at OSA to support the transition to secondary school.
