Marzano at OPS (2019-2023)
OPS added an additional Design Questions to the O'Neill Instructional Framework. This was added to DQs 1 and 6, which were initially identified by the teams.
In the summer of 2019, OPS sent a team of administrators and teachers to a High-Reliability School Conference with the intention of becoming Marzano Highly Reliable School. However, COVID-19 put a pause to these plans.
During the Summer of 2020, the administrative team started working on a new evaluation tool based on the Marzano Instructional Framework. After the initial draft was made, the team took it to a teacher leadership team to look over the tool. From there, the administrative team tested evaluations of tenured teachers to check for inter-rater reliability.
After 2020, the school began working on "maintnence" of the program. New staff attend "New to Marzano Instructional Framework training each year. Building principals work with new staff on what the instructional expectations are. There are whole staff Marzano training once a year.
