To the Parent or Guardian

The Office for Guidance and Counseling Services has been taking concrete steps and appropriate measures to improve the delivery of our Guidance Services. With the generous support of the administration, the Guidance Office has been refurbished. Improvements were made on its physical structure. Its amenities include a counseling room and testing room/conference room.

Conceptualization and development of more functional guidance programs are now on-going. Involvement of the parents in these programs may be sought to serve the specific needs of some students.

In this light, the GUIDANCE OFFICE is providing more information on how we and you, dear parents, can complement each other’s efforts to enable the students to grow to their fullest potential.

ROLE OF THE PARENTS IN THE GUIDANCE PROGRAM

Parents are the first teachersof the child, hence you are challenged to provide the foundation for his/her life style and self-concept. The home is the repository of data which can influence the child’s future life. How much influence these data will have depend upon the faith the parents have in the school and the art of communication as practiced by the school. How they see and understand the mission of the teachers, the counselors and the program of guidance services will determine their role as participants or spectators.
