Guidance Services
For Higher Education, Basic Education Students & TVET Students
In keeping with the Mission and Vision, and Educational aims of the school, the Office for Guidance and Counseling Services facilitates and promotes HOLISTIC formation of the students through the cluster of activities and experiences that will assist the students to knowledge and skills needed to make adequate choices and plans essential to the satisfactory adjustment of the different areas of their lives.

Information Service
This service makes available to students certain information not ordinarily provided through the instructional program or during the regular period of instruction. Such information is necessary to guide them in making intelligent career-vocational choices or in academic, personal and social adjustments.
Orientation - To update and acquaint the students, faculty, and parents of the existing Guidance Programs and Services made available to them.
Talks/Seminars - tackle pertinent issues for students, parents and teachers covering topics such as career information and planning, personality development, parenting and the like.
Guidance Bulletin - provide information about Guidance activities, provides clippings, reports, feedback that can be of help to the school and the social community.
Brochures, leaflets, pamphlets - to give information on the different topics for students to know and apply for self-improvement.
Individual Inventory
This service focuses on individual analysis about the students. Information are gathered from inventory tools that reflect the family background, scholastic records, results of standardized tests, records of observation, interviews, self-evaluation reports, case studies, and other significant reports.
The cumulative records of students are updated to get to know them better in the form of:
Routine/Intake Interview – annual sessions with the students upon prior arrangement with the teachers.
Anecdotal Records – gathering of information through interviews, teacher’s observation reports and referrals.
Counseling & Follow-up Services
Counseling as a service implies planned provision for serving the unique needs of the students through the online/tele-counseling and person-to-person relationship of the counselor and the counselee. Its chief purpose is to provide for the adjustment needs of the Bosconian and ultimately assume increased and greater self-direction.
Individual Counseling. Personal/Social/Academic/Career Counseling (routine interview and test interpretation) through short-term or long-term counseling.
Students can go by appointment or walk-in counseling with the counselor.
Referral system from the teachers, the Prefect of Discipline, Assistant Director for Student Services, parents/guardians, students, faculty, and staff.
Group Counseling. Academic concerns regarding study skills, career, and common concerns or problems .
Group counseling on the common problems found among students.
Referral system for professionals and community agencies.
Follow Up service
Follow-up is extended to students who have been referred for counseling due to academic, career, personal and social concerns.
Follow-up would be made for graduates of the school, to ascertain their academic, professional, and career development.
Testing Service
Tests serve as a means of securing information about an individual objectively – abilities, aptitudes, and interests previously unrevealed, especially unexplored ones. Standardized testing is done within the school year. Testing schedule is prepared in coordination with the Guidance Staff, the Director of Student Services and the Principal.
Testing service covers administering, scoring, interpreting, and evaluating the results of mental ability, achievement, aptitude, adjustment, giftedness, emotional quotient, intelligence, well-being, and objective personality tests.
Testing Service also includes administration of Admissions Test, Psychological Tests and Career or Occupational Tests and Surveys. It aims to help students gain a better understanding about themselves and discover areas of difficulty which could be used in recommending counseling services.
Placement Services (For BES Students)
By definition, placement becomes the satisfactory adjustment of the individual to the next situation whether in school or on the job.
Placement services include educational, occupational, co-curricular and extra-curricular placement.
Career Guidance Developmental Service
Career development service provides an opportunity for the Bosconians to choose wisely their future vocation/career in order to serve and lead; and eventually perform a meaningful role in the country’s development.
For them to be able to see for themselves, which schools would best help them based on their interests and needs.
Homeroom Guidance Program (For BES Students)
Homeroom guidance activities enhance students’ formation of values, attitudes, study habits, life skills, and career-vocational choices. It emphasizes greater self-awareness and interpersonal relationships with others.
Wellness Programs (For BES Students)
Inclusive Special Education Program (ISEP) - This service addresses the unique characteristics of students having distinct and exceptional qualities.
Time-out (At Home and School) - Assists the students in alleviating restlessness in their home-based learning and classrooms during regular school days. It also assists the parents regarding the intervention on behavioral problems during online classes.
Enrichment - Facilitates psycho-spiritual activities that would help the students understand themselves more and be able to cope with the present crisis through DBTC - Guidance Web Page. It also aims to develop the leadership traits and skills of the elected class officers in coordination with the Student Council.
Research and Evaluation Services
It is implemented to conduct studies on psychological test results, common problems of students, evaluation of Programs and Services and their implications to the Bosconians’ needs, problems, environment, and other aspects of school conditions that may affect life.
Services for Faculty and Administration
To provide the administrators and teachers results of surveys and test profiles for curriculum planning and data utilization.
Guidance Staff Development
To enhance work competency of the Guidance Team.
To promote professionalism in dealing with internal and external clients.
