Intensive one-week workshop on theory, methods, and research in cultural evolution
Join us for an intensive week-long workshop on the field of cultural evolution held at the South Omo Research Center in Jinka Ethiopia. Open by application to Ethiopian faculty, graduate students (PhD and MA) and advanced undergraduates. Participants will learn about the theoretical foundations of cultural evolution, their applications, and gain training in methods and research design. Each day leading international scholars will join by Zoom to present on their research. Participants will have time to develop their own research projects using the methods and frameworks of cultural evolution.
After the workshop, participants can apply for a research grant to carry out a research project of their own design. Up to $1000 USD will be awarded. We will work with awardees to develop and carry out their research and submit it for publication in an academic journal and work to help them attend the next Cultural Evolution Society conference in 2028.
