Haitham Hilal AL Hajri, is a senior cyber security specialist at Oman National CERT within cyber security professional services division, Haitham has a master’s degree in digital forensics and currently working in cyber security capacity building, aiming at establishing cyber security culture in both government organizations and at a national level, via planning and establishing, a variety of detected IT & Cyber Security Campaigns, to enhance cyber security awareness of the cyber persistent threat and addressing the risks and threats of smart digital technology. Respectively, Haitham interests and research revolves around the effectiveness of promoting and formatting a cyber-security culture and the adaptation of governance risk and compliance frameworks, to enhance and reduce cyber security risks and threats, especially within critical government infrastructure.

Mr. Yahya Salim Alazri

Director of NDCC

Yahya is the Director of National Digital Certification Centre (NDCC) in Information Technology Authority (ITA), Sultanate of Oman. He has 12 years of experience in IT field specifically in information security and digital transformation. He participated in setting up Oman National PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) in 2012. He is now responsible to support the government entities and the private sector to integrate their electronic systems to the national digital identity and electronic signature systems in order to provide secure and easy e-services. Yahya had the honor to receive the ITU prize for Oman National PKI in 2016 in Switzerland. He provided several speeches in different conference and forums in Oman. He also provided a speech about Oman National PKI in Poland in 2016. He was a speaker in ITU GSR’18 in Switzerland and a speaker in ITU Telecom World 2018 in South Africa.

Dr. Hafedh AlShihi

Dr. Hafedh AlShihi is an Assistant Professor at the College of Economics and Political Science in Sultan Qaboos University. He is also the executive director of Oman Smart City Platform; a strategic research program at the Research Council. He is also the co-founder of AlMoug Training Services, AlMoug IT Solutions and lately founded Muscat Data Tech, a startup in Big Data Analytics. He has special interest and notable contribution in research and innovation and has provided several professional consultancies to local private and public organizations. In 2017, he worked as an ICT advisor at the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit responsible to follow-up and support national diversifications projects. He has also developed several smart solutions and proposals to many leading organizations on how to embrace emerging technologies at national and inter-/intra-organizational levels. He is a member of TRC Smart Cities Platform steering committee, the Grant Committee of the Research Council – Information and Communication Technology Sector, and the Association of Information Systems (AIS) and the Special Interest Group on Electronic Government (SIGeGov). He has finished his PhD in 2006, on E-government Adoption and Diffusion in Oman, and has contributed in several publications in international journals and conference proceedings and has attended/organized several local and international ICT conferences. He has delivered keynotes and participated as panelist in several local and international conferences. He has supervised and examined several masters and PhD studies several of which have received national and international recognition. He is currently teaching MSc and BSc Information Systems (IS) courses and supervising the Information Systems Group, and is a regular blogger and writer in local Omani journals and newspapers.

Dr. Oualid Ali

Dr. Oualid Ali has obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science in 2006 from Laval University Canada. After his PhD study, in 2006, he moved to UK to work as senior research assistant in York University and Hull University. In 2008 he moved to the University of Sharjah (UAE) to work in the MIS Department in the College of Business Administration. In 2010, he became the Head of the MIS Department in the College of Business Administration, University of Sharjah. In 2015, he has moved to Muscat to hold the position of Director of the Training and Smart Solutions Center (TSSC) in the German University in Muscat, Oman and he has become responsible of research, innovation training and consultancies. In the field of Smart, Sustainable and Future Cities, Dr. Oualid is considered as one of the international well-recognized expert. He has participated in several smart (future) cities projects as a researcher or as a consultant. He was involved in the planning and implementation of future cities in many domains such as Smart mobility and transportation, smart tourism and destination, smart energy, smart healthcare, smart logistics, smart waste management, smart parking, smart water management, smart education, smart security, smart policing and law enforcement, etc. He has given several training and capacity building courses related to that field. Moreover, he is a member of several organizations related to the area of Smart Cities or Urban technologies. He has been invited in several occasions in local, regional and international events as a guest or keynote speaker in order to deliver talks about future cities and its domains. Recently he founded two organizations: The FutureCitiesCouncil.org and the ArabFutureCities.org where he is the president (http://www.futurecitiescouncil.org/).
