Welcome to First Grade! My name is Mrs. Walker and this is my tenth year teaching 1st grade! Teaching is a passion of mine. I love watching my students grow throughout the year, academically  and spiritually. I generally use the Whole Brain Teaching method. This teaching method has an emphasis on classroom management, repetition and using gestures to teach vocabulary and concepts. My students and I have fun while we learn! 

I graduated in 2016 from the University of Central Missouri with my BS in Elementary Education. I first started teaching at Clinton Public Schools for two years. I then taught for three years at Holy Cross in downtown Kansas City, MO. This is my fifth year here at OLP! My husband attended school here and now my children will be following in the same footsteps!  We belong to the OLP Parish as well. I have two children, Henry and Patrick. Henry will be in third grade in Fall 2025 and Patrick will be in first.
