A little bit about me...
My name is Kaye Mount and this is my 8th year teaching 1st grade at OLP. This is actually my 9th year at OLP as I was blessed to be able to spend my first two years as a para-educator in our outstanding FIRE program.
I spent many of my initial years in education with the Lee's Summit R7 School District implementing the Homebound Education Program and working as a Homebound Teacher. Just before coming to OLP, I was a founding team member of the Palliative Care Team at Children's Mercy Hospital. I'm so grateful for all my experiences, but feel as if I were placed at OLP for a good reason. I get to fall in love with a bunch of little angels every year :)
This is the ultimate time of my life to devote to these little ones at OLP. I have been married for 32 years to my husband, Phil, we're empty nesters, and have two wonderful daughters. Our oldest daughter Emily is a Registered Nurse and Sophie is a Safety Specialist for a large construction company. My little ray of sunshine that greets me every morning and every evening is Frankie <3, my sweet lil' Cocker Spaniel. Her favorite things in the whole world are belly rubs and jumping in the lake! When we get to be together, my family loves lake life and really just anywhere in the sun!
I want nothing more for your child than to have a great year with very little worry. I am here for you, we're going to learn a whole bunch, and have fun while doing so! I will always be available to discuss your child and will strive to make their experience in my class nothing short of AMAZINGLY AWESOME. <3
