Welcome!  My name is Dawn Surmeier and this will be my nineteenth year teaching at Presentation.  I am very excited about this year and getting to know each of our incoming kindergarteners.  I have been blessed at Presentation in having been able to teach second grade, first grade, and kindergarten.  This will be my seventeenth year at the kindergarten level.  Before Presentation,  I taught pre-school and first grade.  I studied education at George Mason University in Virginia and graduated with a degree in early education-(pk-4th).  After moving to Missouri, I attained certification in K-6th.

Originally from the Washington D.C. area, I have called MO  my home for 29 years.  I have two grown children, Joseph and Kathryn.  My son Joseph lives in Colorado and my daughter lives in Massachusetts.  Also in Massachusetts are my adorable grandchildren.   During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my children (although rare), walking, dancing, reading, being with friends, and playing games.   

I am extremely excited to begin this year and help each child know they have an amazing God who loves and cares for them as well as to inspire each child to grow in love for God, others, and learning.  This will be an amazing year!
