To the right you will find a resources that identifies key areas of first grade reediness. Following the skills, there are ideas and ways to practice these skills with your child over the summer to help them stay fresh and ready for first grade!

Any time you can make print, letter and word recognition fun it increases students interest in reading! Please do not stress if your child is unable to do some of the reading skills. In first grade we teach children from where they are and help them learn and grow at their own pace!

Mathematics

To the left you will find a resource which identifies key areas of math for incoming first graders. You can work through the story problems with your child as well as the other resource pages containing example problems of the concepts to review over the summer. Please know that not all students will come into first grade having all the skills and first grade offers differentiation and repetition as the curriculum spirals from kindergarten into 2nd grade.
