The GOALS (Greater Opportunities Advancing Leadership and Science) for Girls program aims to promote the awareness of science, technology, engineering, and math and nurture leadership and social skills for middle and high school girls in New York City. Along with the summer program, it also includes opportunities for GOALS alum to participate in a paid internship-mentorship program. In an effort to include more teens, youth and the wider community, free events are offered throughout the school year, with themes ranging from STEM, humanities, history, and college-career development. The GOALS for Girls Summer Intensive is a free STEM program for girls in eighth or ninth grade who are New York City residents and attend a school in the five boroughs. The program runs for six weeks, from July 11, 2022 to August 19, 2022. Applications are NOW available.
The LEADing for Life Global Summer Learning Institute (GSLI) is a residential program that will focus on developing a Pipeline of high achieving, diverse students (current high school juniors) by providing an immersive learning opportunity that includes both industry and college experience. The program is a three-week, immersive learning experience beginning virtually for the first week, followed by two weeks of residential at a participating host institution. LEADing for Life Scholars will also participate in experiential activities through applied learning facilitated by college professors, case studies, joint masterclasses, virtual corporate site visits that links scholars to corporate executives in a variety of industries, as well as, prepare competitive pitch presentations for the LEADing for Life Challenge. The LEADing for Life Challenge is an opportunity for Scholars to compete for seed capital and coach to further develop their enterprise idea to make meaningful change in the world․ Tution cost are estimated at $4.000

STEMM Prep Project is a vehicle for producing multiple generations of minority researchers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine (STEMM). Students begin our training program as early as the seventh grade and continue through college while rotating during summers through our collaborating institutions’ basic science, engineering and technology labs. DLC STEMM Prep Project offers year-round mentorship, counseling, and advising with our monthly teleconference meetings. The full cost to participate in the STEMMPREP Project is $5500 for junior high and senior high school students.
Be a history changemaker! Use the resources of New-York Historical to conduct teen-led research on undertold yet highly relevant histories, on topics you care about. Learn about the history of activists and social movements and discuss how knowledge of history can inform change-making in the present. Work with historian mentors and take trips to history archives around the city to help support your work. Develop leadership skills as you lead gallery tours and produce creative digital projects that cover culturally responsive stories that aren’t well represented in our history books today.
Open to: High school students, entering grades 10, 11, or 12.

Applicants must live in and attend school in the New York City metro area (includes the five boroughs of New York City, as well as areas of New York State, Connecticut, and New Jersey).
Applicants must have parent/guardian consent to apply for this program.

The Summer Science Program is an immersive residential enrichment program designed to challenge and inspire talented and motivated high school juniors from around the world. Areas of study are astrophysics, biochemistry, and genomics. SSP is not a “camp" but a research experience where participants collaborate in teams of three and help young people discover their limits, then overcome them through collaboration. SSP provides generous scaled financial aid for those families making under 70,000. Interested scholars should apply today, as the deadline is Feb 25th, 22.
