Our Lady of Grace Mission Statement
Our Lady of Grace School has a long history of academic excellence with a large number of its graduates attending and succeeding in the highly competitive Catholic high schools of the Sacramento area. Our Lady of Grace students also continue on to become active members of the community. In 2000, West Sacramento elected an OLG alumnus to be its mayor. OLG is blessed with a strong, supportive community both on and off campus. Dedicated faculty, parents, and students have established a history of quality education within the community.
The school’s mission is to provide students with the opportunities for academic excellence and the necessary foundation to become successful members of our society. One way that Our Lady of Grace School defines success is in the ability to give back to a community. Our school strives to instill in each student a strong perception of self-worth and respect. Students are taught at an early age that giving of themselves in service, whether through time, physical efforts, creative abilities, or emotional support, is a true expression of Gospel values. A high quality educational experience is recognized in the community as an OLG tradition.
Letter from the Principal
Dear Prospective Family,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Our Lady of Grace family. We are proud to provide a well-rounded curriculum modeled by the teachings of Jesus and continue many of the rich traditions that began as far back as 1960 when OLG opened by the Daughters of the Holy Spirit.
We are honored to serve as the Leadership Team of OLG, the finest TK-8th grade school in the area. Our little school serves 340 students and staffs close to 30 teachers and support staff.
With a focus on academic excellence, we aspire to help students become lifelong learners and successful members of society by exposing them to memorable experiences and instilling in them a love of learning. In addition to a rigorous curriculum of math, language arts, science, and social studies, students will participate in and learn about creativity through visual and performing arts, learn to appreciate other languages and cultures in our Spanish program, engage in technology through hands-on experiences and gain knowledge of important virtues and values in our religious curriculum. We hope that they will acquire abilities of a team player in our athletic program, develop leadership potential, and critical thinking skills in one of our leadership programs or clubs and learn to love putting our faith into action, in one of the many community service projects that OLG completes.
In partnership with our families and our parish community, we are committed to providing a safe, spiritual and welcoming environment rooted in respect and discipline that nurtures individual self-worth. We know that Our Lady of Grace School would not be going into its 59th year of business without the talented students, supportive parents and guardians, and generous community support that we continue to receive.
