1– A meteorologist is a person that collects data to help predict the weather.  

2- Two types of dangerous weather that are associated with winter are ice storms and blizzards.  

3- Blizzard - a big winter snowstorm with strong winds and blowing snow.

4- Severe weather can damage properties and harm people. Severe weather is considered dangerous.  

5- Examples of severe (dangerous) weather: tornadoes, flooding, and hurricanes.   

6- Tornado - is a swirling column of fast-moving air. They form when cold and warm air meet, causing the air to rotate.

7- Hurricanes form over the ocean and have strong winds. They have a large amount of rain which causes flooding.

8- Lightning is the biggest danger in thunderstorms. Lightning often hits objects and causes fires.

9- Hazard - is something that can cause damage to a person or property.
