Good Morning,
Happy Doughnut Day! We will be having an asynchronous learning day. We are going to practice our sight words and work on reading and math. I am assigning sections of IXL.
Sight Words:
The children love to do what is called write the room. Write the last 15 sight words on sticky notes or a piece of paper that you then cut up. Post the words around the room. Children will use only one page in the homework journal to walk around the room and write the words.
Math: We have been working on writing addition sentences using the plus and equals symbols. I usually review with the children before we do our workbook. However, the workbook is a little easier than the IXL I am assigning and is only one problem on each page. I would recommend doing the workbook before setting them up with IXL so they can review what an addition sentence should look like. Complete the workbook pages before the review using IXL.
Workbook p. 357-362
Q- Addition word problems up to 5, 3. Write addition sentences for word problems with pictures - sums up to 5
Reading: Our essential question this week is "What do scientists do when they discover something new?" watch this video to see what Curious George does:

On a piece of paper, draw a picture of something you would like to discover.
Have fun in the snow? I'll see you on tomorrow.
