Submitting Assignments through Google Classroom Across Different Devices

Google Classroom is accessible via any web browser however the ways you may interact with assignments may differ between a laptop, Chromebook or tablet in regards to accessing your documents and turning them in.

Viewing Teachers' Comments & Feedback

Teachers may provide comments and feedback on returned assignments submitted in Google Classroom. Click on the videos to see how students can locate and view teachers' comments and feedback.

Kami

If you have an assignment in Google Classroom that has a document with instructions to completed through Kami, use the following steps to launch your document in Kami:

  1. Open the assignment in Google Classroom

  2. Under Your Work on the right side of the screen, click on the document to preview it

  3. In the preview mode, select the three vertically stacked dots for more options and select Open in new window

  4. A new tab will open with an Open with dropdown at the top-center of the screen

  5. Select Annotate with Kami

Lexia Core 5

Old Saybrook is thrilled to offer LEXIA Core 5 to all ECP - Grade 4 students. This web-based program is designed to work at each student’s own level. If your child is new to this program, the first session is a placement session. The program automatically assigns skills that are personalized to each student. Your teacher will provide a username and password.

Please note:

  • Students should complete the entire placement session in one sitting.

  • Students should work independently. You will be tempted to help! The program automatically adjusts to the skills needing reinforcement based on the placement session.

Student progress can be tracked to see mastery of skills and time spent on the program. This program can be accessed from any web browser by clicking here or download the app onto your iPad from the App Store by clicking here.

  1. The first screen that appears is a login page with “Please set up this device” requiring a teacher’s email.

  2. Login using your teacher’s email

  3. Click “save”

  4. Click “go to login”

  5. There are two tabs, choose “I am a student”

  6. Input student login provided by your teacher

Screencastify is an extension for the Google Chrome web browser. In order to utilize this extension, Google Chrome must be downloaded onto your device.
