Brown University
One of our goals at Brown Pre-College is to provide students with an experience that prepares them to be an undergraduate at any college or university.
This begins with our application process.
To apply to Brown Pre-College, students are asked to submit transcripts, an essay and optionally, a recommendation. The application review, acceptance and enrollment processes all mirror that of an undergraduate experience. This experience leaves students better prepared to engage in the college application process as they approach their senior year.
The first step for a student to complete the application is to create an account! Once students have created an account, they will be able to view our essay prompts so they can get a head start on drafting their essay.

Printable Application Checklist: outlines what students will need in order to complete their application. Please feel free to print and share or pass along the link to your students!

Suffolk University
I’m excited to share with you an educational opportunity for high school students happening this summer at Suffolk University!
From July 7-19, 2024, we will be offering the Suffolk University Summer Public History Institute – a 2-week residential program for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
Through historical site visits, small group discussions, and behind-the-scenes museum tours guided by expert history and art & design faculty, students will learn valuable skills in historical research, museum studies, and digital interpretation. Their studies will culminate in the creation of individualized digital exhibits using their very own Meta Quest unit, a cutting-edge virtual reality technology, which each student will get to keep!
During the program, students will gain hands-on, unparalleled access to the Freedom Trail, Revolutionary Spaces, Old North Church, the John F. Kennedy Library, and historic archaeological and building sites related to African American History and the Salem witch trials. You’ll also network with Suffolk University alumni who have built careers leading the area’s cultural institutions.
We’d love to have your students spend their summer at Suffolk and participate in this exciting program. Space is limited and the application will open in January, so please share this email with your students and encourage them to apply! University of Chicago
The University of Chicago’s summer pre-college programs draw from the multidisciplinary emphasis and intellectual richness of the College’s Core curriculum. We offer a variety of courses in diverse subject areas and engagement levels that match any motivated high school student. For Summer 2024, we will host both residential programs and online courses, including:
Enrichment Programs: With enhanced financial support to cover program costs, talented and motivated students have the opportunity to reside on campus and benefit from co-curricular programming to prepare them for the highly selective admissions process while learning about topics like economics, freedom of expression, leadership, or quantum physics. Some programs seek a nomination from a teacher or counselor, so if you know of a talented student who would benefit from an opportunity like this, we invite you to nominate them now!
Immersion: Through workshop discussions, research projects, and other activities, students live on campus and immerse themselves within a specific topic through three-week-long undergraduate-level courses for pre-college students designed by UChicago faculty and instructors. Course subjects include astrophysics, biotechnology, coding, data science, economics, literature, molecular engineering, political science, psychology, and more.
Pre-College Connect: New this year! Students can take a remotely taught online course for two weeks and then cap off the course by spending one week on our campus to experience residential life and meet their classmates and instructor in person!
Outside of the Enrichment Programs, all Summer Session students can apply for need-based financial aid, including full scholarships. Enrolled Summer Session students can participate in the Admissions Academy, a series of workshops that focus on the holistic admissions process to provide insights on admissions to highly selective colleges and universities and offer essay writing tips.
Students should apply by March 5th for the best selection of courses! To make it easier for you to share information with students, we've also created hand-outs to print and share so students can learn about either the Enrichment Programs or Summer Session generally. More information about our Summer Session programs and the unique intellectual experiences available to high school students can be found on our website, summer.uchicago.edu, and we're always happy to help answer questions at summersession@uchicago.edu.
