School Supplies

As the new school year approaches, we want to provide you with a list of essential school supplies your child will need for 5th grade at Southeast Middle School. These supplies will help ensure that your child is prepared for success in their classes and can fully engage in their learning experiences. Please make sure your child has these items by the first day of school:

1. Composition Notebooks:

   • 5 composition notebooks (one for each core subject: Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies)

2. White or Black 3 Ring Binder & Divider Tabs

   • 2 inch binder is preferred 

3. Pencils and Pens:

   • #2 pencils (mechanical or traditional)

   • Blue or black pens

   • Colored pens (optional)

4. Pencil pouch with 3 rings to place in binder

5. Highlighters:

   • Assorted colored highlighters for marking important information in textbooks and notes

6. Ruler:

   • Standard ruler with inches and centimeters

7. Earphones for Chromebook/iPad

8. Markers and Colored Pencils:

   • Pack of markers (fine-tip or broad-tip)

   • Pack of colored pencils

9. Glue Sticks:

   • Several glue sticks for projects and assignments

10. Scissors:

    • Pair of scissors for cutting paper and other materials

11. Notebook Paper:

    • Wide-ruled or college-ruled loose-leaf notebook paper

12. Backpack:

    • Sturdy backpack to carry books, notebooks, and supplies

13. Personal Organization Tools:

    • Planner or agenda will be provided by SEMS

14. Facial Tissues and Hand Sanitizer:

    • Donation of facial tissues and hand sanitizer for classroom use (optional but appreciated)

Donations help cover the costs of additional supplies, materials, field trips, and various student activities throughout the year.
