What Is Orchestra?
Orchestra Strings is an elective class in middle and high school. Orchestra strings are currently offered at Belle Isle MS, Classen SAS MS, Southeast MS, and Taft MS. Students begin orchestra instruction in the 6th grade and then advance to 7th grade orchestra, then 8th grade orchestra, then 9th-12th grade orchestra at Classen SAS HS @ NE, NW Classen HS, and Southeast HS.
Most of the time, students will be learning in the regular concert setting, that is, in chairs in classroom, but the school orchestra also includes performances, travel, contests, and so much more!
