Have you ever wondered what goes on during the bus rides to games and shows? Do you want a front row seat to the show AND a backstage pass to be with THE BAND? Then being a chaperone is the job for you! Chaperone volunteers provide reliable adult supervision during football games, band shows, cavalcades, and parades. We assist with student equipment, uniforms, and props: move the band through the crowds, and provide assistance in the event of a medical incident. You're already going to the games and shows anyway, come experience it with the band! We can almost guarantee it will be the coolest and most fun volunteer job you've ever had! How to Become a Chaperone
First things first: In order to become a chaperone, the following clearances and documents must be completed and approved by the Athletic Department via the Volunteer Application Form found on the OJR District website.
#1 - A State Police Criminal Record Check (must be updated every 5 years)
#2 - PA Child Abuse History Clearance (must be updated every 5 years)
#3 - Federal Crimiinal History Report
a. If you've lived in PA for 10 or more years, you may complete the "Exemption from FBI Clearance - Volunteer Form" to be exempt from fingerprinting.
b. If you've lived in PA for fewer than 10 years, you must register online at IdentoGO to schedule fingerprinting.
#4 - PDE - 6004 - Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form
#5 - OJR Volunteer Application Form -- Complete and submit after all the previous forms have been obtained and are ready to be uploaded. **All clearance documents must be uploaded to this Application Form.
#6 - Bring your driver's license and photo ID to the High School front office to be scanned into the Raptor screening program.
