After-School Programming
Oakland Hebrew Day School offers students the opportunity to explore talents and interests outside of the school curriculum. Instructors are dedicated educators from within the school community and the greater Bay Area.
AFTERCARE (September 3-June 5)
The OHDS Aftercare Program runs Monday-Thursday, from 4-5:30 p.m., and includes a snack and free play time, and is lovingly overseen by our b'not sherut from Israel.
Pre-registration is required by 2 p.m. on the OHDS Store. Please click "add a note" at checkout to provide any details about dates or the child you're signing up.
You may register for just one day, repeat days (say Wednesdays), or every day of the week, Monday-Thursday, for which we offer a monthly plan.
There is no aftercare on Fridays or early dismissal days (such as those before a holiday). Please check our calendar for these dates.
Here is the After-School Programs Roster, so you can plan carpools. This is a live document updated by the front office daily. Scroll right to see tabs for all programs.
AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS (September 3-May 15)
All students enrolled in clubs will receive a snack and supervised time to play until their clubs begin. Registration opens mid-August. Clubs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so register early!
Clubs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollments are not met.
In most cases, all registration, payments and communication occurs directly with the instructors. In a few cases, registration takes place on the OHDS Store. Please scroll down for registration links.
Registration for our middle school sports teams -- pickleball, basketball and volleyball -- also opens in August on the OHDS Middle School Athletics Webpage.
Cancellations: Please make your selections carefully, as there are no refunds after the second class.

LATE PICK-UP POLICY
All clubs end at 5:15 p.m., unless otherwise noted, and aftercare ends promptly at 5:30 p.m.
Families are expected to pick up on time. Please use traffic apps to estimate your commute, build in extra time to account for traffic, and build relationships with other families who can pick up when you are running late.
Families picking up late will be charged $15 for every 15 minutes, rounded up to the later 15 minute interval. Families will be billed in their FACTS accounts in December and May. Families who are repeatedly late may be asked to take a break from our after-school programs.

From walls and arches to post-and-lintel building techniques, students use hands-on strategies to inspect and duplicate designs from around the globe. After the foundation’s been poured, students utilize the engineering design process to replicate some of history’s most famous designs, uncovering how different societies made artful, stylistic, and functional architecture.
